CREATURES FROM THE DEEP 4.3.10
@ LiPo lounge, 916 Grant Street, San Francisco
21+ | 9pm-1am | FREE
In a subaquatic cave
There’s an underwater rave…
On the first Saturday in April, the Funky Ones invite you to go on a deep sea exploration. Together we will plumb the deepest reaches and darkest trenches, searching for sea monsters and their magical world.
Our aquatic adventure will feature none other than ‘i can dress myself,’ San Francisco’s very own silly dance band playing two distinct sets in their unique style. Our point of departure will be the LiPo Lounge in San Francisco’s China Town.
Please be dressed and equipped to meet these monsters. Folklore tells that the best hope of survival is to blend in with their hideous countenance.
BE WARNED: there is no telling what madness will occur at such watery depths. We will truly venture into unchartered territory as we seek the CREATURES OF THE DEEP.
TICKLE ME PINK AT GRANT AND GREEN 2.11.10
The Funky Ones are back in 2010 with a sultry Valentine’s show at San Francisco’s own Grant and Green. This charming North Beach dive has a sweet happy hour right up until 9:00, so don’t worry, come early!
Getting in the door won’t be hard, because there’s NO COVER!
‘i can dress myself’ will heat things up first around 9 o’clock. You’ve come to know this playful trio for their deep beats and synth treats, but you may have also picked up on a sexier side to this whimsical troupe. Expect more from Emily, Graham, and Eamon at Tickle me Pink.
Sweet love gave life to the Funk and now the Funk’s gunna return the favor with Kiss & Tell. You couldn’t hope for hotter ticket. Around 10 o’clock KnT will rock out in veneration of Saint Valentine, most likely resulting in a few unplanned pregnancies. Those strapping chaps are gunna bring the house down and have you home by bedtime.
Phasic is the live performance section of Polyphasic, a polyphonic production based in San Francisco. Phasic includes Courtney W with vocals as sultry as smoke, Caster, an MC known for his gravely delivery and live painting and Joseph Allen Meyer the mysterious conductor who stirs the mixture.
So get yourself ready for the next decade of Funky One’s productions and join us for Tickle me Pink! at Grant and Green.
