This remarkably astute piece by Noreen Malone was at first deeply depressing and then suddenly incredibly beautiful. Towards the end I felt a peculiar gratitude for the dreadful financial malaise facing my generation.
“…this is a golden age for creativity and knowledge for their own sakes. Our pastimes have become our expressions of mastery, a substitute for the all-consuming career.”
I highly advise my fellow underemployed optimists and my cohort in creativity, The Funky Ones, to read this piece in its entirety.
